A group of boys from 2nd Ahoghill Company Section joined with fellow Ahoghill residents to spend their morning gathering litter around the village.
The tidy up had been organised by the Ahoghill Village Association in preparation for the upcoming judging for this year’s Tidy Towns competition.
After meeting with the other volunteers in the diamond, we split into groups to tackle different areas of the village.
The boys began along the riverbank at the side of First Ahoghill graveyard, gathering the vast array of rubbish that had accumulated behind the hedges over time.
We then moved on to gather litter along the sides of the New Road, managing to retrieve an electric fireplace insert from the river before continuing the litter picking along Church Street and the Glebe Road.
A big thank you to the boys who turned up, and special thanks to the village association for their tireless work throughout the year to keep Ahoghill looking so well.
