The boys and leaders of 2nd Ahoghill Company Section were each presented with a BB branded Bible as a member of Gideon's International visited the church hall.
Gideon’s International is a charity focused on “placing and presenting Bibles and Testaments in the main streams of life”, including hotels, hospitals, prisons and schools. In doing so they hope to give all people an opportunity to read it for themselves, perhaps for the first time, and to discover God in a personal way.
Wesley Coulter, a representative from Gideon’s mid-Antrim branch, gave the boys a brief overview of the charity and shared some of his experiences in the work, before presenting a Boys’ Brigade branded Bible to each of the boys and leaders.
Like all Gideon’s Bibles, they include the full New Testament as well as the book of Psalms from the Old Testament. There are also several introductory sections to guide readers in reading their Bible – including a glossary of useful verses for quick reference, a 2 year daily reading plan for the New Testament and a 30 day daily reading plan for the Psalms.
