2nd Ahoghill Company Section held its first uniformed parade night of the 2016/17 session.
A total of 16 boys were in attendance, with two new faces joining the ranks.
The night began as always with our Bible Study at 7:30pm. This year we are looking at the Beatitudes, a series of blessings recounted by Jesus during his famous Sermon on the Mount. We focused on the first of these – “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”, and considered how important it is to humble ourselves before God and ensure we never become boastful of our own actions.
After Fall In, several boys were presented with the badges they had earned during the summer and we had a short time of drill.
There were no badge work classes, however we did give the boys a brief overview of what to expect in the upcoming year.
We completed a mile run around the village for P.E., setting a base time to improve on throughout the rest of the year. After returning to the hall the boys were free to choose how they would spend their time before Fall Out at 10:00pm.
