2nd Ahoghill exited this year's Masterteam at Round 2, narrowly missing out on progression to the Irish Final of the competition.
The team met at the church hall before travelling to Greenisland Presbyterian Church.
Our second round opponents were hosts 1st Greenisland, 1st Ardstraw (who topped the group in our Round 1 encounter) and 1st Ballyclare.
Meanwhile 1st Cookstown hosted 58th Belfast, 4th Newtownabbey and 3rd Carrickfergus in the second group.
Our group was overseen by quizmaster Steven White, with Jim Holmes keeping score.

1st Ardstraw continued their fine form, topping our group with 89 points, followed by 1st Greenisland and 1st Ballyclare. 2nd Ahoghill finished bottom of the group with a disappointing score of 65 points.
The four highest scoring teams from both groups would continue in the competition. Unfortunately our performance had left us in fifth place, an agonising four points from progression.
This meant that 1st Ardstraw (89), 4th Newtonabbey (77½), 1st Greenisland (77) and 1st Ballyclare (68½) would progress to the Irish Final on Saturday 25th February 2017.
