Eight boys navigated their way around the pitch black paths of Glenariff Forest Park during our annual "night hike" event.
The stormy weather of the night before had settled, allowing our plans to go ahead. So we met at the church hall and began our convoy to Glenariff Forest Park.
We assembled at the entrance of the main car park where the plans for the night were explained. A series of cryptic clues would lead the boys from checkpoint to checkpoint through the winding paths of the forest. With our torches turned off, we ventured on with only the moonlight to guide our steps.
The riddles were no match for the boys and before long we had navigated a circular route along the wooded slopes and back to the carpark.
During the hike, Jonnie shared a quick Bible message with the boys from John 8 v12.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
Reminding us that life can be difficult and dark, but faith in Jesus brings a light to guide us.
