Eight boys from 2nd Ahoghill Company competed in this year's Ballymena Battalion cross country championships.
Anchor Boys
The races got underway with the Anchor Boys, with one boy from 2nd Ahoghill competing. Thomas McCartney made a fantastic improvement from his previous outing, finishing just shy of the top three in fourth position.
Junior Section
Four boys competed in an exciting Junior Section race, which returned three medals for top ten finishes. Thomas Boyce finished in 13th place, followed by Jonah Arnold in 9th, Luke Cromie in 5th, and Noah Scott in 3rd place.
Company Section
Three boys from Company Section took part this year. Stephen Millar and Reuben Thompson made their debuts in the junior race, finishing in sixth and seventh respectively. William McCartney competed in the senior race, and continued his steady improvement of the last few years to clinch a first place finish.
The boys’ excellent performances meant that 2nd Ahoghill finished second in the team competition.
Thank you as always to the officers from Ballymena battalion for organisaing the event, and well done to all the boys who competed.
