47th Annual Display

News |

Guest speaker and former BB officer Liz Davison watched as 2nd Ahoghill Boys' Brigade performed in their 47th annual display, which took place in Brookside Presbyterian Church hall.

As ever the display got underway with the Fall In at 7:30pm, as the company formed into squads in the main hall. Rev. William Moody welcomed the audience, before we sang the BB anthem “Will Your Anchor Hold?”The company were commanded to Fall Out and the night’s display items began.

Camping Capers

The first of the Company Section’s items involved two teams competing against each other in a series of camping related challenges. These included identifying a landmark at a given six figure grid reference, finishing a plate full of survival foods and erecting a tent as fast as possible.

A short break from the display items allowed the offering to be collected, and Rev. Moody to share his thoughts on the items that had taken place.

Last Man Standing

The display recommenced with another Company Section item, the traditional drill down used to determine the winner of our Drill Cup. A number of boys had to perform various drill manoeuvres in quick succession, with any faults being punished by dismissal from the squad. As the name suggests, this continued until only one remained standing.

With all the display items over, the three sections returned to the main hall to Fall In; after which guest speaker and former BB officer Liz Davison gave a short address. She remained on stage to present boys with their awards during the prize distribution.
