2nd Ahoghill Boys' Brigade won the Senior Team award, as four boys from the Company Section took part in this year's Inter-Company Cross Country Championships.
The races took place on the grounds of Ballymena Academy on Saturday afternoon, with boys from various companies across the Ballymena Battalion taking part.
The Juniors’ race took place first, with competitors ranging from 11 to 15 years old. Roughly 20 boys took part, including one of our first year boys William. It was a tough introduction to B.B. cross country with many of the competitors older and taller than him, but William made his way through the pack to claim a well deserved 7th place.
The older boys competed in the Seniors’ race, which included competitors aged 16 years and up. We had a better representation in this age group with David, Dan and Adam competing. All three boys performed well and finished in good positions. Dan came in 9th, Adam was 6th and David made the podium by finishing in second place.
Extra congratulations to David, Dan and Adam, due to their high placing in the Senior’s race they also received medals for being the best Senior Team.
