2nd Ahoghill Company held its 50th annual enrolment service in Brookside Presbyterian Church, as the boys and leaders were officially enrolled in the Boys' Brigade for the upcoming year.

Those in attendance were welcomed at the doors by Company Section members Jacob Loughridge, Ross McGeehan, Andrew Gilmore and Harry Marcus.

The service was led by Rev. William Moody, and began at 11:30am as the colours were received. The flags were carried by Company Section members Adam Millar and Ben Maxwell, and were accompanied by Alex Hill, Aaron Smyth, John Lyttle and Gary McDowell.

Several other boys from the Company Section took part during the service, with Peter Cahoon reading a passage from Luke 19 v1- 10. The offering was also collected by the boys who had been on welcome duty before the service.

Six officers from the Company Section were enrolled, William Young continuing as Company Captain and Jonathan McCartney continuing his role as Leader in Charge. Richard Cromie continued his service as a Warrant Officer, with Thomas Clarke and Ryan Young continuing as Lieutenants. Jonathan Clarke was also enrolled as a Lieutenant, being promoted to the rank after attending his Youth Leader Training in October.

A total of six boys were enrolled as Non-Commissioned Officers this year. Paul Millar, Michael O’Neill, Gary McDowell, Ben Maxwell and John Lyttle were enrolled as Lance Corporal. Adam Millar continued his progress through the ranks, and was promoted to Sergeant.

Overall 19 boys from the Company Section were enrolled for the 2016/17 session, with five boys unable to attend the service.
