2nd Ahoghill Company Section were accompanied by members of the Junior Section, as they enjoyed a joint trip to Clip 'n Climb.
Both sections met together in the church carpark before boarding the bus and travelling to the indoor climbing centre, located inside Dondonald International Ice Bowl.
After a short safety briefing, the boys and leaders were free to make their way around the various installations dotted around the colourful climbing area. These consisted mainly of climbing walls with varying styles of hand and foot holds, including the “Speed Climb” challenge – which pitted two climbers against each other to see who could ascend in the fastest time.
As well as the climbing walls, those climbing could also attempt the “Stairway to Heaven”; a series of steadily increasing podiums which spiralled to a height of over 5 meters.
For the more adventurous climbers, was the “Leap of Faith”. After climbing almost 20ft to a small raised platform; the daring participants had to jump forward to grab the trapeze bar suspended in front of them, before being gently lowered back to the floor below.
Our time eventually came to an end and after everyone was safely back on solid ground, we walked back to the bus and traveled home to Ahoghill.
