2nd Ahoghill Company Section's quiz team travelled to Ballymoney to take part in the opening round of this year's Masterteam competition.
The event was hosted in Ballymoney Elim Church, and we received a warm welcome from Clive Anderson of 1st Ballymoney. Pastor Paul Prentice opened in prayer before handing over to Cynthia Thompson (1st Dungiven) who would be our quizmaster for the evening.

Round 1 – General Knowledge
Round 2 – Name the Song (by selected lyrics)
Round 3 – It’s A Match – (matching European countries with their capital city)
Round 4 – Lights No Camera, Action (identify movies based on audio clips)
Round 5 – Cadbury’s Chocolate
Round 6 – Famous Children (Childhood photos of celebrities)
Round 7 – Sports
Round 8 – Countries
Round 9 – A Moment in History (Historical photos with related questions)
Round 10 – Should have gone to Specsavers (Identify brands based on their slogans)
The quiz got off to a competitive start, with only a few points separating the teams. However as the night continued a noticeable gap developed which would eventually leave 2nd Ahoghill ten points short of progression. Congratulation to 9th Route and 2nd Coleraine who claimed the top two spots on 78 and 77 points respectively, we wish them both well in the Irish Final in January 2025.
