Camping Kit
To get the most out of any expedition it's important to wear the right clothes and bring the right equipment.
What to wear
- Walking boots and socks.
- Quick drying trousers and t-shirt.
- Warm midlayer (fleece, softshell etc).
- Thermal hat and gloves (if appropriate).
- Sun lotion and sun hat (if appropriate).
What to bring
- Rucksack
- Roll mat and sleeping bag.
- Waterproof jacket and over-trousers.
- Spare clothes – t-shirt, trousers, underwear and socks.
- Torch (ideally a head-torch).
- Insect repellent or midge net.
- Food and water (enough for the duration of the camp).
- Mug, mess tins and cutlery (ideally stainless steel).
- Wash Kit – toothbrush, toothpaste etc
- Toilet Kit – trowel, toilet paper, antibacterial wipes/gel.
N.B. The list above is for guidance only. You may need to adapt your kit according to the duration of the camp and the weather conditions.
Avoid cotton when selecting clothing, as it retains moisture and loses warmth.
