What We Do
The most important aspect of the Boys’ Brigade is learning about God.
Each week one of our leaders gives a short talk on a passage from the Bible, explaining what it means and discussing how it applies to our lives today.
We run several award schemes which allow boys to gain new skills and experiences, including the Boys’ Brigade’s internal programmes Discover and Challenge Plus.
We’re also set up as a Duke of Edinburgh centre for Bronze and Silver awards.
Throughout the year we break from our usual routine, by travelling away from the familiar surroundings of the church hall.
This can include a watching a football match, spending the night at the swimming pool or racing around a go-kart track.
We also carry out longer trips, ranging from single day trips to week long summer camps.
We venture out into the great outdoors as often as we can. We’re equipped for hiking and camping, and have even constructed our own canoes. This gives us the freedom to head out on the hills or the water at a moments notice.
Boys have the opportunity to compete against other BB companies around Northern Ireland and the rest of the British Isles.
Each year the Boys’ Brigade run competitions for-
- Table tennis
- Ten pin bowling
- Masterteam (Table Quiz)
